The central control unit, or CCU, is perhaps the most important component of a Meridian system. All other devices in the system connect to it, and it stores and carries out the system administrator's programming instructions.
Which one you decide to go for depends on your requirements. If you do not anticipate needing to expand your system, or will be expanding but to no more than 6 incoming lines and 16 extensions, a system based on the 616 CCU will be sufficient for your needs. If you have bigger plans, it would be better to have an 824 or 032 CCU installed from the outset, as in addition to having greater connectivity than the 616 from the outset, they can be fitted with expansion modules to vastly increase the scope of your system.
This entry level system provides 6 lines and 16 extensions. It is an inexpensive option for companies that are confident that they will not exceed the 6x16 configuration. Features include Music on Hold (just connect a music source to the jack socket). In addition, Held Line Reminder means you do not forget that an important caller is on hold.
Paging enables you to quickly locate a co-worker by making an announcement through BT Norstar phones, auxiliary speakers or both.
The Modular 32 is the most recent version of the Norstar Modular system. It is pre-configured for 0 lines and 32 key extensions and can be upgraded to a maximum of 188 ports by the addition of trunk and extension equipment.
The modular 32 supports ISDN2E and ISDN30 lines, as well as analogue. Later software releases provide a number of additional features such as hunt groups, distinctive ring and many others.
